1. Objectives
The research aims to solve the bottleneck problem in the development of virtual culture products. A data-driven geometric surface modeling method is applied in this study which involves shape based model matching algorithm, model segmentation and reassembly technique, and component library based rapid reconstruction of 3D models.
2. Research Directions
(1) Component retrieval Obtain the shape features by measuring Euclidean distance between any two points on model surface, and perform similarity matching algorithm on the models to retrieval components.
(2) Component segmentation Design an interactive segmentation technique to timely adjust the model segmentation.
(3) Component assembly Develop a group of interactive component assembly tools including component assembly and seamless cohesion to ensure interactively model assemble.
