The International Summer School 2023 on Artificial Intelligence in Education was held at CCNU

On July 9th, the two-weeks’ CCNU International Summer school 2023 on Artificial Intelligence in Education came to its end. The Vice President of CCNU Peng Shuangjie delivered a speech at the closing ceremony. More than 30 people attended the closing ceremony, including teachers and students both from the University of Wollongong in Australia and from CCNU, as well as staffs and teachers from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education and the CCNU-UOW Joint Institute.


Danial Boos, an undergraduate majoring in Electrical Engineering and Software Engineering at UOW, said he had a memorial tour filled with studying and exploring. Campers learned a lot about the transformation of AI in promoting education by means of different professors’ lectures. Besides, they experienced Chinese culture in depth and felt the kindness of Chinese people.


Peng Shuangjie presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Dr. Ren Fenghui, who led the team of UOW. He also expressed his sincere thanks to all the experts and scholars who joined in the International Summer School to give lectures and the working teams of CCNU and UOW. He said that this year is the fifth International Summer school on Artificial Intelligence in Education jointly organized by CCNU and UOW. We have achieved fruitful results in talent cultivation, scientific research and cultural exchanges. Besides, he introduced that the two-weeks’ summer school included a variety of activities such as expert lectures, group project, cultural experience and CCNU visit, reflecting the concept of taking advantage of each other’s strengths and making progress altogether. He hoped that the students can apply the knowledge to their future study, just like the icing on the cake to their lives.


At the closing ceremony, Dean of JI Professor Yu Xinguo briefly reviewed the programs of the Summer School. Mr. Zhou Bo, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges issued certificates to the campers.

The CCNU International Summer School 2023 on Artificial Intelligence in Education was jointly held by CCNU and UOW, which lasted for two weeks starting from June 26th to July 10th. Students listened to lectures by experts from Wuhan University and Central China Normal University, experienced Chinese language and culture, experienced traditional culture and arts such as Chinese knotting, shadow play, Wuhan dough modelling, facial make-up of Beijing Opera types and Tai Chi. They also visited the History Museum of CCNU and Lab for National Engineering Research Center of Educational Big Data. In addition, under the guidance of our young teachers, students were divided into different groups according to their academic backgrounds and interests carrying out activities and gaining practical experience in research.
