Recently, the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education sent a letter of thanks to our university for our contribution to the success of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education.
The first International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education was successfully held in Beijing on May 16, 2019. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the conference. Vice Premier Sun Chunlan attended the opening ceremony, read out a congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping and delivered a speech. Minister Chen Baosheng delivered a keynote speech at the Ministerial Forum of the conference. Vice Minister Sun Yao and Vice Minister Zhong Denghua delivered keynote speeches, respectively. More than 500 Chinese and foreign guests from over 100 countries and over 10 international organizations attended the conference.
In the preparatory process of the conference, the team of the National Engineering Research Center for E-learning (NERCEL) of our university deeply participated in the drafting of important documents related to the conference and made great contributions, which were recognized by the leaders of the Ministry of Education. Professor Yang Zongkai, director of the NERCEL, and Professor Chen Jingying were invited to speak at the conference forum to introduce research results and share practical experiences. In addition, the two achievements — "Artificial Intelligence + Preschool Education" and "Artificial Intelligence + Basic Education Solutions" of the NERCEL were successfully selected and participated in the intelligence and education exhibition for this conference.
Based on the above contributions, the Ministry of Education has sent a letter of thanks to the expert team of the NERCEL of our university.
