On November 15, 2017, Associate Prof. Christian Ritz, Associate Dean International, Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences , UOW, Australia, and a member of JI Administrative Committee, lectured to the graduate students of Electronics and Communications Engineering in Room 1122, Building 9.
The Lecture is about information processing, mainly involves advanced multimedia signal processing, speech coding, audio coding, image coding, video coding, advanced audio signal processing and so on. Associate Prof. Christian Ritz’s fluently English and humorous language made the lecture attractive and interesting.
Associate Prof. Christian Ritz taught profound theoretical knowledge of speech, audio and image coding from the familiar knowledge, such as language, sound and vision, to make esoteric theory simple and clear. At the same time, he made full use of charts to make the boring theory be shown in a clear and intuitive way.
Students all said Christian Ritz's teaching is rewarding. Zhang, one of the students, said: “I thought it was all in English and I certainly could not understand it, I did not expect that Prof. Christian Ritz used such a simple and plain English to make me understand well, although my English is not very good. Besides, he brings overseas teaching methods and advanced concepts, I am so happy to have an international class on campus! ” Li also said with a smile: “We hope that more professors from UOW can come to JI for instruction. ”
It is learned that, according to the requirements of Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools and the cooperation agreement between the two schools, UOW would assign teachers to our JI each semester to ensure the quality of teaching.
