On November 22, 2019, the "Artificial Intelligence Technology and Educational Science Integration and Artificial Intelligence Talents Training System" workshop of the China Automation Conference was held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center in Zhejiang Province. The influence of artificial intelligence technology on various fields of society is more and more profound, while education is just one critical field among them. Education is moving towards the era of intelligentization. The integration and innovation of artificial intelligence and education has become an important trend of educational reform in the future.
This forum discussed two major topcis: first, how to use artificial intelligence technology and related technologies to improve educational methods; Second, how to carry out artificial intelligence education. The forum was chaired by the Director of the Wisdom Education Professional Committee of China Automation Society, Professor Wang Wanliang of Zhejiang University of Technology. Meanwhile, the forum invited high-level experts from universities and enterprises who have rich experience, advanced ideas and dedicated dedication in artificial intelligence education to make reports, provided a high-level platform for scholars and technicians at home and abroad in the field of artificial intelligence education.

Professor Yu Xinguo talked about the research and application of artificial intelligence technology in education reform. They proposed a five-element education model to express the key factors and various situations of education; then introduced the typical scenes and patterns of teaching in the application of intelligent education technology; and took the large-scale personalized counseling service based on automatic answer as an example, the difficulties and current achievements of artificial intelligence education were introduced. Finally, a highly intelligent education service based on automated solvers and educational robots was introduced.

Professor Ma Miao from the School of Computer Science, Shanxi Normal University gave a report on AI-based learner behavior analysis. The report outlined the development requirement and background of "AI plus Education"; sorted out the hierarchy and typical cases of educational big data application in the context of "AI plus Education", and reported the phased achievement contributed by their research team adopting AI technology such as deep neural network on the detection, analyze, description and understanding of the behavior of students through scene understanding and video information processing techniques in a non-invasive environment such as traditional classrooms, laboratories, and examination rooms.
Professor Xu Degang, deputy dean of the School of Automation, Central South University, proposed his work on the exploration of the high-quality talent training model of intelligent science and technology specialty. Relying on carrying out of projects such as “Professional Comprehensive Reform Pilot” among provincial and ministerial colleges and universities, in response to the need for double first-class discipline construction and the requirement of professional engineering certification, with the goal of high-quality talent cultivation, Professor Xu introduced a new pattern of cultivation of high-quality talents for intelligent science and technology specialty, which is based on the integration of science and education as the main line and the cohesion and coupling of "professional education + innovation and entrepreneurship education".
In January 2018, the Ministry of Education officially announced the "Ordinary High School Information Technology Curriculum Standards (2017 Edition)", which requires new standards and new courses based on new standards to be adopted before 2022. Based on the new curriculum standards of information technology, Professor Fan Lei of Capital Normal University introduced the application of artificial intelligence in it, and discussed some key issues of AI in the implementation of new standards and curriculum.
Cui Wei, an engineer from Shanghai Yixue Education Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the Squirrel AI intelligence adaptation system and technology based on Squirrel AI technology, including machine learning, information theory, Bayesian theory, neural network, etc., Taking the individual customization of study plan for students as an example, he presented how to accurately locate student images and analyze student behavior.
Xie Zuoru, a professor-level senior teacher from Wenzhou Middle School in Zhejiang Province, introduced the artificial intelligence education in primary and secondary schools supported by open source hardware. The popularity of open source hardware in recent years has effectively promoted Maker Education and made programming education more interesting. Teacher Xie also showed some mainstream open source hardware and the application effect of the self-designed “virtual grain” IoT project , and analyzed how to choose suitable open source hardware, how to develop primary and secondary school artificial intelligence education courses with open source hardware.
This forum is a very valuable communicating and study opportunity.
