3D Grid Rendering Platform

1. Objectives

The platform presents a high quality and scalable cluster network rendering method. It utilizes the grid computing power to improve the graphic rendering efficiency and shorten the time of 3D animation production. Also is can be expanded to provide computing support for mass data processing such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology.

2. Research Directions

(1) Network construction Connect network node within campus to CERNET by using 10Gb routing switch and 1000Base-T optical fiber cable. Construct IPV6 network and connect to CERNET2 via 1000Base-T.

(2) Computing platform construction Integrate computing resources within campus to reach over half trillion computing power and 20 TB storage capacity.

(3) Grid resource construction Construct a network communication platform to manage users, schedule works, manage resources, and monitor activities.
