UOW delegation visited CCNU and JI

On the afternoon of November 15, UOW delegation headed by Mr. Brett Lovegrove, Executive Director (Global), International Services and Development, UOW, and Associate Prof. Christian Ritz, Associate Dean International, Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences , visited JI and both sides held discussions with the relevant persons who are responsible for National Engineering Research Center for E-Learning, the Graduate School, Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and JI. The symposium was presided over by JI Dean Prof. Yu Xinguo.


 

 

Meetings between CCNU and UOW

 

Both sides reached a consensus on establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership and proposed the vision of continuing to give play to the advantages of both schools, rooting in localities, sharing the advantageous education resources of the two universities and sketching the beautiful blueprint of the JI in terms of talents training, teachers’ construction, setting up a teaching and research platform and so on.

Both parties said that since its establishment in 2016, JI has achieved satisfactory results in running schools and has continuously improved its scale and influence. The two universities will further support the development of the JI and actively promote talents training and teacher exchanges. Through mutual recognition of teachers, teachers from both sides will be encouraged to participate in the exchange and cooperation between the two universities. Cooperation in scientific research should be strengthened by joint declaration of international and domestic scientific research projects and building a joint laboratory and other research platforms.

Mr. Levegrove expressed his thanks for the great hospitality from CCNU. He said that Central China Normal University Wollongong Joint Institute is the only Chinese-foreign cooperative education institution operated by UOW in mainland China. CCNU is one of its most important international cooperative partners. He wishes that both sides could further expand international exchanges and cooperation, strengthen the building of the JI in the areas of teacher resources, teaching platforms and student interactions, making our best effort to build JI better and stronger.


UOW delegation visited the exhibition hall and computer technology laboratory of NERCEL

 

After the conference, accompanied by Deputy Dean Mr. Wu Helin, the delegation visited the exhibition hall and computer technology laboratory of NERCEL and met with the JI students majoring in computer technology.
