JI Students Won The 2017 China Robot Skills Competition Runner-up

From 8th to 10th  December 2017, the "Softbank Robot Cup" 2017 China Robot Skills Competition was held at Nanjing University of Science and Technology Sports Center. The Robot Skills Competition is hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, co-organized by Softbank robot company and undertaken by Nanjing University of Science and Technology. The Robot Skills Competition is supported by Beijing six Workshop Technology Co., Shenzhen Makeblock Technology Co., Nanjing University E-pal Technology Company. Our faculty sent a total of two teams, and they won the first prize in the robot relay runner-up and robotic golf tournament second prize.

A total of 9 types of competitions were set up in this competition, most of which were initiated by experts and scholars of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence(CAAI), including robot puzzle, robot relay, robot obstacle run, robot golf, warehouse logistics robot, wisdom express, long-range detonation rescue, fighting, drone skill challenge and other projects. The content and form of this competition is of great novelty and interest, attracting a large number of students to watch the game.

Our teams won excellent results in this competition. The "Flying Bird Team", which is composed by Wang Long, Zhang Siyuan, Zhang Chaolong, Deng Xu and Liang Linyi, JI students majoring in Computer technology , won the first prize in the robot relay race (runner-up). The "Five Tiger Corps", which is composed by Liu Yanpei, Wen Siyuan, Song Weixuan and Liu Xiaoxue, JI students of the same major, won the second prize in the robot golf competition.

It is reported that the "China Robot Skills Competition" aims to create a brand new robotic amateur competitive platform, inspiring students’ enthusiasm for scientific and technological exploration. This competition attracted more than 160 teams from 52 colleges and universities, such as Nanjing University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Sichuan University, Xiamen University, Dalian University of Technology, Air Force Engineering University, and Southeast University.
